Up until recently, have been able to use ctrl-D to open bookmark box to save website page in Firefox. No longer works. Getting tired of dragging and dropping, especially with bigger box that is dragged (a new feature that does not help). Using 69.0.1 64 bit

What Firefox locale (user interface language) do you use ? Ctrl+D should work in most locales (at least in en-US), but there might be locales that use another keyboard shortcut. The bookmarks menu drop-down list should show the actual shortcut.

Yes, en-US. I see in the bookmark dropdown list that it is ctrl-D, but a box that used to open up that allows you to choose where to save it to does not open anymore.

Click the blue bookmark star in the URL box - any one will do. Then tick 'Show editor when saving' near the bottom.

That did it, Ed! Thanks so much!

By the way, it was showing that "Show editor when saving" was clicked when I first clicked on it. I unclicked then clicked again. Not sure if that is what was needed to jumpstart so that when I do ctrl-D the box now opens.

I'll probably just use the star from now on anyway.

Thanks again!

Note that if you would hide the dialog by default that the dialog should still open if you press Ctrl+D a second time similar to having to click the highlighted star a second time. In both cases the star should become highlighted on the first use to indicate that the URL is bookmarked. If the star is highlight then "Bookmark This Page" gets changed to "Edit This Bookmark" (this includes the tooltip text that is shown if you hover the star).
