Won't load certain pages

Posted

Updated to 69.0.1 (64b) and now a number of websites won't load. All used to work. One starts to load but then I get a blank white screen. With or without my 1 extension.

The problem is every time I have to update the browser I have to reset every setting, such as in about:config. Re-do homepage, add uBlock, everything. Something must not be right but don't know what. Most sites load. There must be an easy way to insert my profile but I forget to save it before I update FF.

Really tired of fighting FF. Hope to run it in a VM as soon as I build a new box.

Make sure you are not blocking content.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

One issue that seems more common lately is Firefox's Content Blocking. When it is blocking content in a page, a shield icon will appear at the left end of the address bar next to the padlock icon. This article has more info on managing this feature:

Question owner

Thanks FredMcD. Tried the 'turn off blocking for this site' but no cigar. Although Weatherunderground does load for about a full second now before the page goes white.

Confounding. It's the only site I've added to Exceptions for cookies & site data in Options. Was fine before this last update to ver 69.0.1.

I'll check Safe Mode. Have to go out of town so it may be a while 'til I post back.

Thank you.
