Firefox 68 - Videas Still Auto Playing
Read many answers. None of them have worked for me since FF 60. Currently at FF 68. I have attached my media.autoplay settings which match everything I could find on these forums. Here is a link to a page where video autoplays: https://www.dailywire.com/news/49815/boris-johnson-takes-over-great-britain-trump-hank-berrien

I do get the block auto-play icon on the Navigation Toolbar, but there is an animated GIF showing as a preview (possibly via picture-in-picture).
The actual video isn't playing (I see a play icon). This image is send as "application/octet-stream", so you will have to check this in "Tools -> Page Info -> Media"
You can limit animated GIF to play only once or not at all via a pref on the about:config page.
- image.animation_mode = normal [normal, once, none]
You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I accept the risk!" to continue.
Here is another page where the video starts: https://www.yahoo.com/sports/hungarys-kristof-milak-19-shatters-michael-phelps-signature-200-m-fly-world-record-133513105.html
I did set the image.animation_mode value to none.
Try:
- media.autoplay.default = 5
- media.autoplay.enabled.user-gestures-needed = false
- media.autoplay.enabled = false
- media.autoplay.allow-muted = false
First variable was set to 1. Second variable was true. Third and Fourth were already false.
Changes made. Will be reviewing.
Thanks.
