Thunderbird just updated to 60.8. Now all my email addresses time out and I am unable to access my messages. How do I fix this? Thanks
Booted Laptop for 1st time today. Clicked on Thunderbird, it automatically installed update 60.8. Not been able to download emails since then, get a message saying 'connection to server timed out'. I have email addresses with BT and 123-reg. Running Windows 10 on a DELL Laptop, 3 months old. Thanks

Timeouts are often caused by incompatible antivirus software. What happens is that the AV and TB work together OK, TB updates, and the AV no longer works with the new version, however minor the update. To test, start Windows in safe mode to bypass startup programs and see if TB runs without timeouts. In any case, you should exclude the TB profile folder from AV scanning, leaving the real-time scanner in place.
