Can I block tracking as I do on my PC?

Can I block tracking as I do on my PC?

Chosen solution

Hi

I have had a response from a senior member of our product development team. She has confirmed that the tracking protection in Firefox Preview protects users from advertising, analytics and social media tracking across websites.

Please appreciate that Firefox Preview is a work in progress and more may be done to improve this feature further in a future update.

Hi

Yes, Firefox Preview does come with tracking protection. Tap the three dots icon, select Settings and look under Advanced to see the Tracking Protection option.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for the response, but I don't see "Advanced" under the settings option. Nor di I see an option to determine which version of Firefox I have loaded. Perhaps I have an older version. How can I update it?

Thanks.

Hi

The best way to update is to open the Google Play Store app on your device, select the three lines I on at the top of the screen. Tap on My apps and games and you will be shown any updates for apps that you have installed, including those for Firefox Preview.

I hope this helps.

Thanks again . I installed Preview and checked the tracking protection, but it doesn't specify what is blocked as the PC version does -- trackers, cookies, cryptominers, fingerprinters. Are all these subsumed under the single heading of tracking protection?

Hi

I am not 100% certain, so have asked our developers. I will let you know when I have heard back from them (hopefully very soon).

Thank you so much for following up on this. I'm glad to get the same protection on my phone as on my PC. That privacy and security coverage is why I use Firefox.
