What has happened to Firefox "Remeber Me" on web browser?
What has happened to Firefox's memory, "Remember Me"? I have been using Firefox for at least 12 years but all of a sudden my links have forgotten how to access my sites using my shortcuts. They now need user IDs and passwords to get into them. I have switched at least 5 of my shortcuts on my Desktop to Microsoft Internet Explorer where they work correctly with no problems. I am using Firefox Quantum 67.0.1 64-bit on Windows 7 and have applied all the updates. Mait

Hello Salemu,
First (just to make sure) : in Options => Privacy & security => under "Logins & Passwords" is "Ask to save logins and passwords for websites" checked ?
Another thing to check : Options => Privacy & Security => under "History":
Firefox will => choose "Use custom settings for history"
Make sure that "Always use private browsing mode" is unchecked.
Check : "Remember browsing and download history"
Check : "Clear History when Firefox closes"
To the right : click "Settings" and check only "Cache" (nothing else, unless you want to check "Form and Search History" too).
Any luck ?
A detail like a website remembering you (log you in automatically) is stored in a cookie.
You can use these steps to make a website recognize and remember you:
- you can create an Allow exception to keep specific cookies, especially in case of secure websites and when cookies expire when Firefox is closed (Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed).
- Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security
Cookies and Site Data: Exceptions
