Why can't we back up or export bookmarks? Not everyone has a desktop or laptop to sync. Why don't add-ons have access to bookmarks so that we may create backup
I do not use a computer at home therefore I am unable to sync my bookmarks that are saved on my Android phone. I searched everywhere for ways to create a back up and found nothing. Many other people want and need this capability. Even those who use sync have lost mobile bookmarks during sync operation and want to back up on their Android before synchronizing. There are plenty of people who want this feature but. All Mozilla has to say is use sync but that is not acceptable. Most of us came to Firefox because we didn't like Bill Gates or anyone else telling us how to use the web. But now Mozilla Firefox is doing that very thing by not giving us a necessary and fundamental tool within the Firefox browser.
Additional System Details
- User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Android 9; Mobile; rv:66.0) Gecko/66.0 Firefox/66.0
I am sorry that Firefox for Android cannt do this at the moment, but hopefully this may be something that is included in a future update.
Thanks for the response. I hope it is added soon as that is a fundamental part of a browser, whether on a laptop or on an Android. Unfortunately I already lost all of my bookmarks when replacing my phone because Firefox does not provide a reasonable solution. So now I'm looking for an android browser that will export bookmarks so I don't run into this problem again.
I will raise this with the developers and hope it can be solved soon.
