send as email function does not work for docx, xlsx (but is ok for doc and xls)

I'm running latest Mozilla Thunderbird on Win7 Pro x32 Czech edition. I have small problem with "Send as email function" from windows explorer to thunderbird
- I use only Thunderbird for email - I have MS Office 2016 x32 installed, Outlook is not used - I have set default email client to Thunderbird from within program or via "Deafult programs" in control panel
- "Send as email function" from Windows explorer works fine for all file types as pdf, xls, doc but resist to work for newer ms office formats docx, xlsx. - when I try to send docx as attachment via windows explorer "send as email" function it seems screen only blinks for fraction of second but no thunderbird email compose window displays
- when I made outlook 2016 as default I can send this way all filetypes including xlsx or docx - when thunderbird is default -> I open xlsx -> select send as email from within excel program a new thunderbird composition email windows is created without problem
so only windows explorer -> send as email on xlsx, docx -> thunderbird as default path does not work
Any clue what to fix?
