As I am browsing a website, like townhall.com, I ask firefox to go back from the article I have just finished reading to the website homepage. It usually works fine, but every so often it goes back to the website I was looking at before I went to townhall.com , which means it goes back two steps in the visiting history instead of one step. Then, I have to go forward one step to the article I just finished and click on the website homepage. It seems like this problem has only started within the past 3-6 months or so. Any ideas as to what's wrong?

Hmm. Might be something going on here. I'll have to pay more attention to this.

Otherwise, you can Right-Click the Back Arrow and select the previous link just below the current one with the 'dot'.

Thanks for the tip. I will try that approach until the problem is resolved.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window

Hmm. Before I just started this Session (I now have 66.0.5), I Right-Clicked my Back Arrow and got some other pop-up menu, and no URL Drop-down history! This, right after I played around trying move Tabs. There's a gap between the Tabs and I can't select multiple Tabs anymore or even move one Tab!

I thinks there's a Bug-a-Boo back one or more versions ago. I'll try move more Tabs around tonight or tomorrow and see if it 'locks' up on me with version 66.0.5.
