I removed ghostery and adaware today when they no longer worked due to the firefox whatthehell yesterday that seemed to make that the only option. I have not restarted the window or computer but cannot find them, and now see little updates from firefox saying not to remove them or all data is lost. 1. Can I restore these please, and how can I do it? 2. No addons seem to download. Is this just because they are still working on it, or do we not know reasons? The error message is always to check the connection, which works fine. I am using Windows 7 on a laptop and firefox seems to work with it. Thanks for help with this. It is keeping me offline until it gets fixed except for this fussing around.

Thank you. I guess my old filters are gone, but this did enable downloading AdAware and Ghostery.

Yeah, removing them and now re-installing them means any special options/prefs/configs are gone and you have set your changes all over again. If you left the add-ons alone, they all would still be intact with all the pref changes you made.

If this issue is 'Solved', please mark my previous post as such. Thank you.

Yup, they didn't seem to show clearly not to remove them soon enough for me--I had waited until this morning to see if it had gotten better then naively followed their advice. Thanks again.
