Sadly time to leave firefox

Posted

Sad day, constantly trying to force update, I am limited bandwidth and can't do forced updates for anything, unless you are going to pay for it. On top, you know longer allow any of my great extensions to work. this makes your platform useless. the fact i can't use extensions that you are too ignorant to put into your code in the first place that make my life so much easier and simple is ignorant. In fact, the browser no longer even works, it won't even try to install extensions that are still on your website... i assume this is because you have locked us out who can't update.

This is the end of your browser for me.. it is sad as i have been with you since the beginning. it is the end of an era and is a sad commentary for a platform that has always been about freedom and the ability to use add on's to make your we experience extremely useful and easy and allow you to do a wide variety of things... a simple up directory extension no longer works... something you morons should have included as a standard button or menu item lol...

it is pathetic what has happened to this once proud, free, alternative to the others....

it is a sad day.... the browser is no longer free or usable and the fact you force update or refuse to allow it to function anymore just shows you never really cared about freedom and liberty at all.

time for a different browser folks...

Hi dlbott, what forced update are you referring to? The last update (Firefox 66.0.3) was several weeks ago.

Regarding add-ons not working, unfortunately, a critical certificate expired. Please see the following article for next steps if you want to fix that problem: Add-ons disabled or fail to install on Firefox.

I am on satellite and pay thru nose for bandwidth and can't afford long updates or to open studies options. No thanx to you all the actual fix has been posted several places without using studies, the way you should have done it in the first place. But you knew that but just wanted a peak into everyone's computer systems lol.

What a joke... and for your benefit, you can't shut off the nagging update update update window even though I refuse to update lol. another joke...

I have been loyal user since this browser started but this has made the decision for me, time for waterfox or something different that does not force things upon you and allows your great extensions to work like they always did...

certificate, bs. an extension or piece of add on that is perfectly fine, and does not change is fine, just because your software says oh this is old, certificate, we are going to kill it. that is your bs, some of these great add on's work just like they should and always will even though they are old and the writers are not around anymore. Does not make them any less perfect or certified, just because you don't want them to work anymore lol...

what a joke...

something as simple as an up directory extension. never needs to change lol.. who the frack cares about whether the writer is alive, the code is the code and is just as good as it was when it was written, get it.... bunch of BS
