After restoring my main account in Thunderbird after a diagnostic deletion, half of the folders in this account were missing. How can I find and recover them?

Also, this sale of Yahoo presents many complications with the introduction of a 'master password' that is easily forgotten and thus prevents any editing of profiles or in my case retrieval of lost folders.

And what exactly did you do upon 'restoring' the account?

I have no idea what Yahoo may have got to do with the master password. The master password functionality exists in Thunderbird for ages, and hasn't changed over time. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Master_password
