Cannot clear history in Firefox for iOS on iPhone

The directions are clear. But there is no "clear recent history" option on the screen, although there is lots of history. Thanks, volunteers - I'm going to delete Firefox from the iPhone and reinstall it (it doesn't show up on my list of apps needing to be updated.)
