Hi,

I just d/l'ed FF 66.0 running on a Macbook Pro Yosemite and the browser is NOT saving my searches!

Ive got all checked with regards to browser history and I cannot figure out why this is happening.

Only add ons I have is Ad Blocker Plus and Video Download Helper.

Can someone chime in as to why or what is going on?

Any help would be appreciated. As an FYI I am NOT a programmer so I am not going to mess with code or deep manipulation of my Mac. Ive never had this issue with previous Firefox's.

Thanks. G Sharp

Is this how you are set up?

Type about:preferences#privacy<enter> in the address bar. The button next to History, select Use Custom Settings.

Turn off Always Use Private Browsing Mode Turn on Remember My Browsing And Download History At the bottom of the page, turn on Clear History When Firefox Closes. At the far right, press the Settings button. Turn on ONLY Cache and Form And Search History leaving the others off.

Thanks but its not working still. Now with the setting your told me I have to manually type in my Yahoo email password every-time i.e. now FF doesnt seem to auto log me in.

So much for updates from FF! This is one time that Mozilla didnt think things out. Ive never been so frustrated with such issues.

Any other suggestions?

Not working!

I just checked the Verify Integrity and I keep getting this error message:

Unable to check places.sqlite integrity: Error: Error(s) encountered during statement execution: database disk image is malformed

And THIS is why people DONT update their software! When it aint broken no need to keep up with the Jones's.

Can anyone else chime in as to what I can do?

I stopped updating at v54. I refuse to lose my add-ons.

Looks like the file is corrupted. Let's try this:

Type about:support<enter> in the address bar.

Under the page logo on the left side, you will see Application Basics. Under this find Profile Folder. To its right press the button Show Folder. This will open your file browser to the current Firefox profile. Now Close Firefox.

The places.sqlite contains History and Bookmarks. Rename this file by adding .old to it. Restart Firefox.

The browser should create a new file using a backup of the bookmarks. History, however, will be lost.

Hi

Thank for the help. My conclusion to the new FF is its bug littered garbage!

Im curtailing it back to an old version that WORKED. To hell with these bug infested nightmare updated versions. The headache isnt worth it.

Appreciate the tips but nothing worked.
