Is this a POP or IMAP account? Under Tools/Account Settings, Copies & Folders for the account, are drafts stored on a remote IMAP server or under Local Folders? The latter is a safer choice if you don't need to access drafts from other devices.

So, you have a Drafts folder, but it doesn't accept new saved messages. If that is due to the folder having become corrupted, you can possibly fix it: select Help/Troubleshooting Information, click Open Folder to open the profile in Explorer, close TB, open the Mail subfolder and then the subfolder for the account, move the Drafts mbox file, the file with no extension, somewhere outside of the profile, delete the Drafts.msf file. Restart TB and save a test message as a draft; TB will automatically create a new, uncorrupted Drafts folder, and you should be able to read the test message.
