re :When I scroll through my Address Book

In Address Book Have you selected 'All Address Books' or a specific address book like 'Personal Address Book'?

If you have selected 'All Address Books', then it is showing multiples because the contact may be in more than one address book. Click on the column header icon on far right and select 'Address Book' from the drop down options. This will now tell you which address book contains that contact.
