Youtube is slow/gives errors

Seems like a memory handling thing in FF vs Chrome/Other, I suppose. I keep seeing posts about 'Chrome is faster' a lot. I only use FF right now on my Windows-7 desktop system, but do notice Chrome is faster overall vs FF with my small Vizio Android Tablet.

In the future, I'll test other Win-7 browsers to see if FF is sluggish like it now is on my system, but I do have lots of Tabs and browsers windows open, at this point.

What's your ISP subscription Speed? What are your FF Extensions?

Please do the following:

Click on the Windows icon 'Start' (bottom-left) and in the right column, bottom, click on Run. Enter in:

DxDiag /64bit

...Wait until the green bar loads and disappears, then click "Save All Information".
Post back here in the Forum, just these information parts, under these three Headers:

My extensions are Privacy Badger, uBlock, Facebook Container, and Youtube Enhancer. However, I have tried to use Youtube and Video Quality Report in safe mode, with no difference, so the extensions are not the issue.

My extensions are Privacy Badger, uBlock, Facebook Container, and Youtube Enhancer. However, I have tried to use Youtube and Video Quality Report in safe mode, with no difference, so the extensions are not the issue.

Page File: 8650MB (8.65GB) used, 24009MB (24GB) available with under 96GB of hard drive space remaining.

Your C:/ drive is too low on free space. Your Paging File Size is under 9GB now of the available 24GB. You're taking a big performance hit until the C:/ drive is freed-up with more space.

Try to clean-up your C:/ hard drive to have at least 25% or more of free space. The more free space, the better. Windows and programs like to have plenty of Free Space Remaining to 'breathe' better.

Drive C:/ is where the Page File is located. I'm not aware of a way to change this to another drive. I'd get a larger USB drive and put my Paging File location there if it's possible. In Windows-7, I don't see an option for the Paging File to be located elsewhere.

Pj,

My page file is actually on my E drive (https://imgur.com/a/2abnAP7), which has hundreds of gigabytes available.

Well, that's interesting to know. I have hope if I toss-in another hard drive. I'd hoped it could be located on a USB Thumb drive.

You're still low on drive C:/ where Windows-7 sits, unless it cross-drives as needed?

Hmm. What about your Graphics Card settings/adjustments? Is it updated with the latest drivers? Windows Update, also?

Another thing to look at (see image):

I've got 93.4GB free on C, surely I don't need to have over 100 Gigabytes unused.

I've got that setting disabled.

I 'll try updating and see if it makes a difference. Now that you mention it, I wouldn't be surprised if this is some issue with RTX

Your C:/ Drive is nearly 1TB. You only have 96GB remaining. That's just under 11% of free remaining space! You should try for 25% or more!

So, 'surely' that's cutting into good performance. I have a 1TB drive, my only hard drive at the moment, and I try to keep 120GB or more of free space.

Your Paging File Size is under 9GB now of the available 24GB. It'll change size as needed, so it may be ok. Mine is around 12GB at the moment. With FireFox, I've seen it grow to 20+GB at times!

But, that's me with 21 browser windows and one of the windows has 973 Tabs going! (Not all opened at the same time. An About:Config Tab setting is adjusted to not open all Tabs upon a Restored Session. That helps me on Memory usage.)
