On the calendar side my events don't show. When I create an event and click Save & Close only the first 3 or 4 words show. There is much more room in that particular day's square, but I can't use it. Why is the calendar so big if you can't use 7/8 of the space allotted for each day? Have tried everything I know, even this forum once before, all to no avail. More problems on the mail side but I want solve this to decide if I'm going to continue to use Thunderbird. Thanks for your time.

Have never installed Lightning. Don't know what Lightning would add, although from what I've read, it wouldn't benefit me. Thunderbird is version 60.5.0. Not sure what the W10 is that you mention. Know about hovering to see entire event, however, that is to slow and cumbersome when the event is going to be on 1 day within a 6 to 8 week period. I need to be able to see everything at a glance as I can with the large paper calendar hanging on the wall that I've went back to using. On my 27" iMac each calendar day is 1-11/16" wide x 2" high, but Thunderbird (as far as I can figure out) will only allow me to use a 3/16" strip across the top of each day. The rest of each day's space remains blank. Thank you for your reply and effort to help. By the way; your picture doesn't look familiar to me.

Have updated to 60.5.1 and plan to install Lightning to see if that add-on helps me achieve what I want.

You have missed the point.

Lightning IS THE calendar to Thunderbird. If you have a calendar with Thunderbird, you have Lightning installed. Go to the add ons tab, click Extensions. Is Lightning of listed? It is if you have a calendar working with Thunderbird.

Yes, you are right. I do have Lightning. It is listed under Extensions. Earlier this morning I was playing with Thunderbird, trying to get the calendar to show more than 4 words. If I remove the time by checking the All day Event box, 5 words will show. The remainder of that day's window or space is still blank. Unused! On my paper calendar I write small, but occasionally, even with small print, I will use the entire space. With the size font the TB calendar uses I would probably NOT use the entire space. However, I would like to be able to see everything I wrote for that day without hovering. What was the developers purpose in leaving so much blank space?

Anyone have any ideas or solutions to my problem? I'm using version 60.5.1. Have had the calendar (Lightning) from the initial install, never had to install it separately. This program runs on an iMac with OS 10.13.6 installed. Thanks for your time.
