How do I completely disable upgrade notice popups?

The option to disable upgrade notices has been removed. :(

I even tried putting "user_pref("app.update.enabled", false);" back into prefs.js.

Given my use pattern, it is impossible for me to upgrade between reboots (when I do reboot, I always upgrade to the latest version).

The popups are interfering with some of my automated processes (by opening and raising windows that shouldn't exist).

How do I stop them?

You can't stop that it's part of the browser itself. I will say they don't like us talking about disabling upgrade notice or auto upgrades. That is something one has to find on the web but not on here.

Any specific reason you want to use outdated Firefox versions that want to update?

Firefox 60 + versions support policies that allow to disable updates.

Firefox only updates every 6 weeks or so. They are usually important (including important security fixes). i'd just restart Firefox when you need to, it's not that common
