I have a Gmail folder with a '/' (Satnav / Tracker) which Thunderbird changed to a non accessible folder 'Satnav' with a sub folder 'Tracker'.

I cured my issue by changing the folder name to 'Satnav & Tracker' which works for me.

I raised this issue so it can be either investigated on added to the 'known issues'.

Thanks for that info sounds exactly like what TB did with my Gmail folder.

To confirm it, I made 2 new folders in Gmail - colors/red & colors/blue expecting to find a folder colors with 2 sub folders but I find separate folders named colors/red & colors/blue. I then also managed to add a folder colors but when I tried to add a sub folder 'red' to colors Gmail reported the folder already existed.

So it proves the theory a '/' does indeed indicate a sub folder

Thanks for your help.

This issue is due to gmail. You have created a nested label.

If I logon to gmail webmail and want to create a label - lets call it 'Junk', which does not display under the Gmail italised folder in Thunderbird, then I have to create it as follows: [Gmail]/Junk

So in webmail account it looks like this: [Gmail]/Junk But in Thunderbird it is just a folder under the gmail imap account called 'Junk'.

Gmail is seeing the 'Satnav' as a folder with a no_select flag and the '/' indicates there is a subfolder called 'Tracker' which can hold emails.

See images below explaining info.
