Firefox always opens in a new finder screen (Mac). Don't want that.

When I open Firefox from my usual Finder page (Mac), it automatically switches to a new Finder page, so that I can't see both Firefox and what I've already been working on unless I keep clicking Finders back and forth. How do I stop this?
