Hello surdunicu,

Could you be a bit more specific, please  ?

For instance : are you talking about changing your password for your Sync account or are you talking about changing your master password  ? Other  ?

I think this is the master/general password

First : You inadvertently marked my first post as Chosen Solution (it obviously didn't solve your problem .... ) - you can rectify that by clicking on the "Undo" button to the right of that post.

Then : if you reset your master password, as described here :

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/reset-your-master-password-if-you-forgot-it

and still are being asked to fill in the correct password, then maybe you could rename or remove these in your Firefox profile folder with Firefox closed :

logins.json and key4.db

Go to the 3-bar menu : Help => Troubleshooting Information => Profile Folder => Open Folder

Also see : http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox

Do you have a key3.db file in the profile folder?

If you have then try to move this key3.db file and also move pkcs11.txt and secmode.db file to a safe location to see if that helps.

Be cautious with removing logins.json and key4.db because you will lose all passwords stored in the Password Manager. If you do then make sure you keep a backup copy of all involved files.

Did you previously used a master password?

When you click on Firefox menu button (the three horizontal lines in the upper right corner) - at the bottom you will see "Help" - right next to (?) . When you click on that, you will get 8 choices, among which "Troubleshooting Information" - click on that, and under "Application Basics" you will see "Profile Folder" => "Open Folder" ......

I assume that Firefox has crested a new key4.db file to replace the previous not working copy?

Are you currently using a master password (i.e. Firefox asks for the MP when you click "Saved Logins" or "Show Passwords") ?

If the Password Manager is working properly then you can remove the renamed files and only keep logins.json and key4.db.
