After recent Firefox upgrade only Firefox and Thunderbird operate correctly. All other Windows based programs/functions are EXTREMELY slow or inoperative, ie. Word, Excel, Adobe reader (PDF files), Task Master, etc. Firefox 62.0.3 (64 bit) Windows 10 1803

Chosen solution

Called Microsoft support. After some looking around tech could not find anything specific.

Tried "hard boot" - Press and hold power button on computer until fully powered down. (Don't power down in normal on screen way. Don't just press and release the power button.) Wait 2 minutes. Power up in normal way.

It worked. Now everything is back to normal.
