My Windows 7 pc cannot access my email with Firefox

more options

I simply have a desktop pc running Windows 7. I have not, nor am I planning to, sync with any other device. Two days ago i downloaded Foxfire Quantum 62.0.2

I am seriously considering making Foxfire my default browser, however I am unable to log in to the paid email account i have had for years (Fastmail).

When i try to login, I get the message "Incorrect Username or password". I know my username and password are correct because I can still login to my email with google Chrome.

I have already tried restarting Foxfire in "safe mode" and I have tried disabling extensions and add-ons. I still cannot log in to my email.

Too bad, because I like Firefox. If this can be fixed, so that i can log in to my email account with Foxfire, then i will make Foxfire my browser; otherwise, not.

(Sidenote: I am also unable to login to my email with IE10)

I would really appreciate being able to make this happen.... any suggestions?

Thank you Kimmy

Hi Kimmy, do you think this could be a problem created by having a wrong login in Firefox's password manager? You can check that here:

  • Windows: "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options
  • Mac: "3-bar" menu button (or Firefox menu) > Preferences
  • Linux: "3-bar" menu button (or Edit menu) > Preferences
  • Any system: type or paste about:preferences into the address bar and press Enter/Return to load it

In the left column, click "Privacy & Security".

Then on the right side, click the "Saved Logins" button. Then click the "Show Passwords" button. If either the username or password needs editing, you can double-click it to make the text editable. The click away to a different part of the dialog to complete the edit when you're done.
