Can we get the keyboard to stop collapsing?

Here's the problem. I type my search terms into the address bar, and follow a link. Enough of the website loads for me to decide it doesn't have the information I'm looking for, so I tap the address bar again and try to type more specific or different search terms. The objects still loading on the website steal focus and cause the keyboard to collapse while I'm typing.

This is making Firefox Focus unusable. Maybe if the X in the address bar actually made the website stop loading? This problem usually results in a link that was underneath the keyboard being accidentally tapped. It's incredibly annoying.
