How do I go straight to my Inbox in Thunderbird 60?
Hi There -
Well, in Thunderbird 60, my add-on, "select inbox" is disabled.
https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/addon/select-inbox/
I have just one Inbox, so when I open TB 60, I want it to always open in the Inbox view.
Will TB 60.0.1 correct this, or do I need another way. If so, kindly advise.
Many thanks! :)

When will 60.0.1 be available to fix legacy extensions?
60.0.1 or 60.1 will not "fix" legacy extensions. They are no longer compatible and will remain so unless someone has the time and inclination to modify them for use with the new add-on environment.
That is why the regimen that has been around for the last few years of automatically marking legacy add-on compatible was changed. Because they no longer are compatible. In Thunderbird 60 they either do not work, or more alarmingly cause the main application not to work. That is why I am not recommending any hacks to make them work. there are none, short of physically changing how the add-on interacts with the Thunderbird application. In essence the add-on needs to be rewritten to work with Thunderbird.

Thunderbird will open in whatever tab and folder were open when you closed it. That will not be changing.
My add-on was functioning perfectly until 60.0 -
How can I make it compatible, or work around it.
Having Thunderbird open to the last folder used is unacceptable to me. I want it to always open the Inbox upon start.
Thought I read that 60.0.1 will fix these things.
Kindly advise and thanks.
https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/60.0/releasenotes/ IMPORTANT: Add-ons not marked as compatible with Thunderbird 60 by their authors will be disabled (this can be reverted via preference extensions.strictCompatibility)
- 'Menu icon' > 'Options' > 'Options' > Advanced' > 'General' tab
- click on 'Config Editor' button
it will say be careful :)
- In top search type s.strict to locate 'extensions.strictCompatibility'
- double click on line to toggle True to False.
- close window
- click on OK
- Restart Thunderbird.
then see if you can enable that addon again
Alternative option whcih should work in version 60: Manually Sort Folders addon has option to start on Inbox. https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/addon/manually-sort-folders/
Hi everyone -
Unfortunately, these options are not good for me. Too much work for something simplistic.
The one posted by Toad-Hall didn't even work.
I thought that 60.0.1 is supposed to allow these extensions to work? Is this true? That "Select Inbox" extension was great.
Any alternative ideas to get that extension working?
TIA :)

Did you revert the preference ? This will allow some addons to continue functioning, but it is not a guarantee. It is up to the authors to update their addons.
Hi!
Yes, I reverted the preference without result.
Some of these features should be built into the product and not as an add-on, IMHO. They fill the void left behind by the developers of both FF and TB!
Just my mini-rant.
