Cant find an attachment selection when i want to send an e-mail

I am new to Thunderbird , I want to include an attachment with my email but there is no selection shown [when I look for help it shows where it should be , but it isn't there !!!!!

Chosen solution

In a new message window, press the Alt key to show the Menu Bar, then check View/Toolbars/Composition Toolbar and View/Toolbars/Menu Bar. Then, File/Attach or click the Attach icon on the Composition Toolbar.

Sorry , very new to Thunderbird and to be quite honest am finding it very difficult having been used to Outlook express, but having moved to Windows 10 have to try something. How do I find out what Version I am on , I thought it was the latest , Peter
