Hi 596Unit7, I'm sorry to hear you have this problem. One of the suggested steps in the support article is to rename or remove the places.sqlite file that stores history and bookmarks, and have Firefox generate a new one. Did that not work either?

Could you try:

New Profile Test

This takes about 3 minutes, plus the time to test creating some bookmarks and accumulating some history.

Inside Firefox, type or paste about:profiles in the address bar and press Enter/Return to load it.

Click the Create a New Profile button, then click Next. Assign a name like Sept2018, ignore the option to relocate the profile folder, and click the Finish button.

After creating the profile, scroll down to it and click the Set as default profile button below that profile, then scroll back up and click the Restart normally button. (There are some other buttons, but please ignore them.)

Firefox should exit and then start up using the new profile, which will just look brand new. Please ignore any tabs enticing you to connect to a Sync account or to activate extensions found on your system so we can get a clean test.

Does Firefox show that same error in the new profile? If not, do history and bookmarks seem to be working?

When you are done with the experiment, open the about:profiles page again, click the Set as default profile button for your normal profile, then click the Restart normally button to get back to it.

If you want to keep going with the new profile, we'll need to help you move your bookmarks over.

Good to hear!

This is the general article on migrating data from one profile to another: Recovering important data from an old profile.

If you're just looking to bring over bookmarks, what you can do is copy the contents of the bookmarkbackups folder in the old profile into the same place in the new profile, then when you go to the Restore menu, those backups should appear there.

Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer

I realize I've skipped some steps, so if you are not familiar with copy/pasting between folders, let me know.

Two other points:

(1) Firefox data is under a hidden path, so for easiest navigation, set Windows to show hidden files and folders:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/14201/windows-show-hidden-files

(2) Most Firefox files should not be deleted or replaced while Firefox is running, so it's easiest to open the profile folder from within Firefox first, then keeping that folder open, exit Firefox. See: Profiles - Where Firefox stores your bookmarks, passwords and other user data.
