My system is MAC laptop and bookmark is not working at all even after several times uninstall and reinstall. No luck. this is the bad version i have ever seen

firefox suddenly saying bookmark file is used by other application and it is not visible and not allowing to import as well. nothing works. uninstall, reinstall, restart and reboot,... nothing works. the worst firefox version ever used.

try to restore the bookmarks from a JSON backup in the bookmarkbackups folder that has all your bookmarks.

Did you check the read/write permission of the files(especially places.sqlite) in the profile folder in both locations used for the profiles.

Firefox uses two locations for the Firefox profile folder, so make sure to look in the correct location. Location used for the main profile that keeps your personal data in "AppData\Roaming" (Root Directory on about:profiles).

  • ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/<profile>/

Location used for the disk cache and other temporary files in "AppData\Local" (Local Directory on about:profiles).

  • ~/Library/Caches/Firefox/Profiles/
