Add on Google Search not longer works... TB v63
I mistakenly allowed TB to update to 63 and the Google search add on no longer works.
This has been asked before but the solution is no good anymore.
Any one know if/how it can be dome post 60 something?

Up to you. But even though there is no real solution to the problem, marking a topic as 'Solved' makes it easier for volunteers. And it also helps others with the same problem. Thank you.

TB63 is a development version solely for testing purposes. Why are you using it?
The release version is available at https://www.thunderbird.net/
Sorry. Brain fade. I read 63 somewhere and it just popped out without me noticing.
I'm actually using 60.0b10 32bit but on 64bit windows 10 and x64 processor
I've noticed I'm on the beta update channel... I suspect I shouldn't.
Download and install the release version.

I now have 60.0 installed... I presume the release version as it is direct from Thunderbird website.
Still the Google Search plugin is incompatible.
The add-on was updated the last time back in 2012. A lot has changed since then, and I'm not surprised it doesn't work anymore. It is the responsibility of the add-on author to update their add-ons.
There are currently little alternatives if any. A support article exists but it doesn't work for me. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/add-search-engine-open-search
I don't know of any other method to add Google as a search engine to Thunderbird.
Thanks for confirming what I suspected after reading around the issue.
I guess it is money talking that denies us the option, after all, it can't be a big job to code in google along side the several other search options.
