the + sign has gone away from side of tabs to open new tab, can use Ctrl+T ok

I must have done something, it was working ok when I recently started using windows 10 after years and years of XP, but can not get it back to how it was - clicking on the + to open a new tab is so muuch easier

Open Customize and look for that +, and then drag it to the Tab Bar.

Or use the Restore Defaults button to restore the Toolbars to their default settings.
