Everytime we start the firefox as XenApp or on the published desktop and surf to a website with flash player activated the firefox browser is crashing. This is also happening on a RDP connection. As a workaround i uninstalled the flash player. But some of our internal websites are using the flash player. Do you know another workaround?

XenApp Windows Server 2012 R2 64 Bit + VDA 7.17 Firefox 61 64Bit + Adobe Flash Player 30 Added reg keys HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\CtxHook HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Citrix\CtxHook

Name: ExcludedImageNames Type: REG_SZ Value: firefox.exe,plugin-container.exe

Flash player = HardwareAcceleration disabled also in firefox

Make suree you have the current Flash Player installed.

Note: Windows users should download the ActiveX for Internet Explorer. and the plugin for Plugin-based browsers (like Firefox).

Note: Windows 8 and Windows 10 have built-in flash players and Adobe will cause a conflict. Install the plugin only. Not the ActiveX.

Flash Player Version: Version 30.0.0.134

https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ Direct link scans current system and browser Note: Other software is offered in the download. <Windows Only>

https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ Step 1: Select Operating System Step 2: Select A Version (Firefox, Win IE . . . .) Note: Other software is offered in the download. <Windows Only> +++++++++++++++++++ See if there are updates for your graphics drivers https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration

ShutDownKill means that something within Firefox is not responding.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

more options

Hi,

in safe mode is no issue because the Adobe Flash Player isn't loaded.

Not correct. Flash is a plugin and not affected by Safe Mode.

It could be the work of one of your add-ons, or it could be Hardware Acceleration. How to disable Hardware Acceleration {web link}

Type about:addons<enter> in the address bar to open your Add-ons Manager. Hot key; <Control> (Mac=<Command>) <Shift> A)

In the Add-ons Manager, on the left, select Extensions. Disable a few add-ons, then Restart Firefox.

Some added toolbar and anti-virus add-ons are known to cause Firefox issues. Disable All Of them.

If the problem continues, disable some more (restarting FF). Continue until the problem is gone. After, you know what group is causing the issue. Re-enable the last group ONE AT A TIME (restarting FF) until the problem returns.

Once you think you found the problem, disable that and re-enable all the others, then restart again. Let us know who the suspect is, detective.

Like I wrote hardware acceleration is disabled. Adobe Flashplayer plugin 30 is installed on the server but it is not shown in the firefox extensions.

In the Add-ons Manager, select Plugins. Make sure it is Always Active.

In Safe-Mode Firefox is not recognizing the plugins. I also disabled Hardware Acceleration again.

HI, try this, uninstall Flash using this tool :

Now uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files , C:\Program Files(x86) & C:\ProgramData Then restart system. Then run Windows Disk Cleanup. (Note: This should be Pinned and run Weekly, If never done below expect 10's of gig's) Then run it again and click the button that says Cleanup System Files. Note: your Firefox Profile is saved. But you should make a back up before you do :

Reinstall with Current Release Firefox 61.0.1 with a Full Version Installer

Now reinstall Flash :

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

To make this clear Firefox is installed on a VM guest Windows Server 2012 R2. In the vsphere console, the firefox and flashplayer are working. When we connect to the VM via remote desktop, it won't work.

We already disabled hw acceleration.
