I have been trying to clear the history in firefox quantum, but it will not clear.

I have been trying for awhile to clear my history in firefox quantum on an iMac. I am not in private browsing. I go to library and clear history and check mark everything and hit the blue button to clear....nothing clears. Very frustrating. Anything else I can do???

Let's try this first;

[v57+] Places Maintenance is built into Firefox.

Type about:support<enter> in the address bar.

You will find Places Database near the bottom. Press the Verify Integrity button.
