Just what the title says. about:newtab opens some page that is NOT my newtab page. Very undesirable behavior. May have to revert to an earlier version of firefox for good. Terrible security choice, breaking the excellent extension support they used to have, forcing people to use old versions.

Assuming that you had set the New Tab page as your home page : there could be a number of reasons why Firefox now opens a different page instead (you didn't mention which page ... ).

Would you please go over this article :

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-to-set-the-home-page

(and make sure you read the section 'Having problems  ?')

Does this help  ?
