OS Win 10 latest upgrades. Firefox is always default; there is no other browser for me.. Stopped using Nightly and uninstalled. Reinstalled Fx, refreshed FX, tried Safe Mode. 3 month old Lenovo ideapad, 7th Gen i5, 16mb RAM, 1T Circulating Disk.

Much of the Windows crap is turned off, carefully after insuring it would not interfere w/Fx; I don't message, use their email or browser or games; never been to their store. Under Diagnostic Data in settings, I use the Basic choice.

I have tried everything I can think of. Noteworthy: In Windows settings, Fx is listed as default Browser, and shows as an installed program under apps. However, it does not appear as a program in others, like Notifications, Email & app accounts; and FX is NOT listed under any of the app permission categories, Like Camera, Microphone, etc.

Even with the fresh windows install, before any disabled features, no

Add Ons I use with Fx, which are not currently enabled: Containers, Easy Screenshot, Ghostly, and Video Download Helper.

In Fx. my bookmarks don't work; you click on the star and nothing happens. They worked a little last week, but I could not duplicate them working.))

Using Containers - They would NOT hold Cookies and preferences, 'separately by container' as they are supposed to.

I gotta be honest, I am in love with Firefox, and I detest most things MS. I realize MS makes things difficult for you guys at times. That said, I just want my browser to work, all the time, without a bunch of bother. I had Nightly, but that got old fast as I need the add-ons; I did not mind the daily updates

Last point, I think the password for Fx, which I use, should appear quicker in the boot. Sometimes I have forgotten to wait, and was already at a site when it popped up; this could present a vulnerability, I think.

Thanks for any assistance. Martin

Hi, there are major issues with your Video Card Drivers for your adapterDescription: Intel(R) HD Graphics 620 driverDate: 9-26-2017 Things are blocked, unavailable, not supported, 3d, 3d hardware acceleration Reinstall with a full driver package or update if available with a full driver package. https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/detect.html

Below is the quickest way to fix some issues : uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files , C:\Program Files(x86) & C:\ProgramData Then restart system. Then run Windows Disk Cleanup. (Note: This should be Pinned and run Weekly, If never done below expect 10's of gig's) Then run it again and click the button that says Cleanup System Files. Note: your Firefox Profile is saved. But you should make a back up before you do :

Reinstall with Current Release Firefox 61.0.1 with a Full Version Installer

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

PLEASE - I have been over 3 months, without a bookmark function on Fx; I click on the star and nothing happens. I have followed every proposed solution, including those above. Reinstalling windows 10 was the last attempt, as well as every other program on my 6 month new machine. Still, no bookmarks, and the containers do not separate cookies, as advertised. I'm copying web addresses to a document; lunacy.

Someone must have the answer, even if that answer is 'find a different browser'.

If you use Sync then best is to disconnect Sync temporarily during troubleshooting.

You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database (bookmarks and history) in the Firefox profile folder.

  • use "Verify Integrity" on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page

See also:

If "Verify Integrity" on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page cannot repair places.sqlite then remove all places.sqlite files in the Firefox profile folder. Firefox will rebuild places.sqlite and restore the bookmarks from a recent JSON backup in the bookmarkbackups folder.

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.

Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support to see if that has effect in case security software is causing problems.
