Why does Firefox ask me to log in two more times when I'm already logged in??
My log-in defaults to my Gmail home page, if that helps.

Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily turns off hardware acceleration, resets some settings, and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).
If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu:
- Click the menu button , click Help and select Restart with Add-ons Disabled.
If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Safe Mode as follows:
- On Windows: Hold the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
- On Mac: Hold the option key while starting Firefox.
- On Linux: Quit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox -safe-mode
(you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)
When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "Start in Safe Mode".
If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme, or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps in the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article to find the cause.
To exit Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.

Do you use Firefox Account ? Do you Sync ? If not you do not need a account to use Firefox.
I do not know why it is asking you 2 more times.
I created a Firefox account this morning because I was instructed to do so as part of this inquiry. I've never used it, nor do I Sync (whatever that means).
So your answer is simply, "I don't know"?
Ok, well do not need a account to run Firefox and the account for here can be separate from there as I do not have one for the browser that I know of and have never been asked to make one. Guess lucky.
Also can make a new account here anytime, just not same username. If use same user name there is a running history of your questions that can be reviewed to see what was going on before if needed
Delete the account if do not use sync, or use Firefox screenshots and store online, they can be saved locally. though there are things that are of interest. that do need to sign in for and do need a google account for : https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/multi-account-containers/
As for 2x's no idea and yes the answer for me is I do not know. That does not mean others can help but Support does not work with accounts as we are all Volunteers.
Okay, I deleted the account. Will this help me get an answer?
lol, sorry, no idea. wait and see, restart Firefox and go to a page that always asked.
"...go to a page that always asked." I have no idea what this means.
Well if it is not asking you for your password and log into Google 2 X's then it has succeeded in the results you wanted.
Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.
I was asked to log in twice this morning, after I was already logged in.
Show a screen shot of the homepage when you first open FF?
See, I was already logged in, and then I got the message to log in again. This happens twice every morning, and each time a new tab opens, even though I don't respond. (When I open Firefox, it automatically defaults to my Gmail account.) I hope this helps.
Please disable your Gmail™ Notifier Extension and and then restart Firefox.
If I do that, will I be able to enable it again?
Yes, but if it is the cause of the problem, you may not want to. If leave google mail open the tab top tells you that there is email to look at so actually is a waste of time using it as well as ram and speed decrease and privacy you give up.

That's a point, but I always close all my tabs when I shut down. Not sure I'd even know how to find Gmail without the extension at this point!

Modified
Look at the picture you uploaded, 10 new email
Right, but that was on the first tab, the one that's supposed to open, with the extension. The shot I sent you was of the 2nd screen when the Log-In message appeared.
Maybe you should come look in the forum at your/this page, there is only 1 pic.
I think at least my question has been answered. The multiple log-in requests appear to have something to do with my Gmail extension. After temporarily disabling the extension in Safe Mode yesterday, the problem did not recur today. That's a hopeful sign, and I will hope it's an actual solution. Thanks for your time and patience.
