This is 100% FAKE as they are preying on less experienced users who do not know the real Firefox updates are done by download from mozilla.org like www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ or by internal software update (with a .mar file).
Firefox updates have never be served on a page on a random weird name website outside of *.mozilla.org/* and never by a extension.
Mozilla has already blocked a long list of fake extensions that usually has FF in name like the FF Gallery extension it is attempting to install or did if you allowed it. addons.mozilla.org/blocked/
One of the main things these fake extensions do is block access to the Addons Manager so users have to start Firefox in Safe-mode in order to uninstall it.
One of these fake updates extensions was mentioned at https://malwaretips.com/blogs/remove-big-searches/

No Mozilla never does a manual update with Firefox. That's a fake.
