sounds like something that would be caused by an addon.

What happens if you start in safe mode https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/safe-mode-thunderbird ?

Hi Luke,

I get the feeling that you think the people in this forum are developers or Mozilla employees. They're not. The people that answer questions here are users just like you, volunteering their time.

To answer your question, the author of the Theme Font & Size Changer add-on has updated a compatible version for Thunderbird at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/thunderbird/addon/theme-font-size-changer-fixed/

If you have any further questions, please use https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/new where volunteers can get more details about your setup, and we won't further hijack VideoPod's thread.

I've successfully downloaded the latest theme-font-size changer as suggested - However I can't open it up and /or use it for actual font changes. What am I doing wrong? I'm not a young computer wiz, I'm a 79 year old guy that wants to see the menus and fonts easier like the older font/theme changer used to accomplish!! HELP!!

Sounds like you downloaded the addon. See https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/installing-addon-thunderbird#w_a-slightly-less-ideal-case-install-from-a-downloaded-xpi-file
