When I try to send I get the error message: (XX) is not a valid e-mail address because it is not of the form user@host. Some of my mailing lists are working, and I can't see any difference in the way they are set up, and the ones now giving me this error message have worked fine in the past.

Chosen solution

Some potential pitfalls: a mailing list that has spaces in its name; a mailing list that accidentally had another mailing list added to it, by drag and drop; a list entry that has a name but no email address.

If none of these apply in your case, it may be sufficient, if annoying, to simply recreate the list (drag contacts from an address book and drop them onto the mailing list icon).

I took your advice and created all new lists (yes it was annoying). Your comment about mailing list names with spaces - that did not appear to be a problem, since some of my old lists that worked are formatted this way, and I put a space in the name of one of my new lists just to check and it worked just fine. The bottom line - I still can't figure out why some lists that worked just fine stopped working, while others created the same way continue to function properly. BTW, the format of the addresses in the malfunctioning lists was not the problem, since I created the new lists by copying and pasting the addresses intact. Did Mozilla blunder in one of it's updates? We'll probably never know. Anyway, thanks a bunch.
