I just factory reset this device in an attempt at resolving my Bluetooth/cellular calls/hot spot issues - if I use any two at one time the cellular calls over Bluetooth in my car has audio issues - first it's there, then it isn't, the audio I mean, back and forth-so being a contractor I use all 3 and sometimes GPS also all at the same time-anyways the factory reset didn't worth still got those issues.

This question is because after the factory reset I of course reinstalled firefox for android and went directly to my works webpage where I grab my jobs, record my travel times/mileage and onsite times and close tickets. I'm a Project/Deployment/IMAC Technician.

Anyways, I load the page up in a newly installed firefox and I then hit menu->Page-> to ge that menu and I see 6 possible choices in the menu that appears. As follows: Subscribe to Page = Greyed out Save as PDF = not greyed out Add a Search Engine = greyed out Pin to Top Sites = not greyed out Add Page Shortcut = greyed out

This "Add Page Shortcut = greyed out" is what I care about-all the other menu items are quite useless, to me anyways.

Can someone PLEASE help me get this back--I have to type the URL in everytime now and it's a LONG URL-for security purposes I clear my history as soon as firefox is closed and I close it, for the same security reasons, after every ticket entry...

Thank You.

Alternatively you can try to long-tap the URL bar - Add Page Shortcut .

If that doesn't work either, does 'Add Page Shortcut' work on another URL?

Hey.

I'm not sure why, but I failed to mention I run next launcher, not google launcher, this morning I realized that- before the factory default reset this made no difference, the add shortcut to home page function worked fine-after-not working with nexus launcher but this morning I switched back to google launcher for a minute and it works fine when I shift back to google launcher--seems I am in the wrong forum...unless you know anything about nexus launcher?

also, when I open Chrome and add a home screen shortcut it SEEMS to work, but when I go to home screen it is not there, SO, when using Nexus launcher I cannot add a page shortcut to the desktop even though it seems to work in Chrome. I switch back to using Google Launcher and the shortcut is also not on the home screen, even though Chrome said it added one - so, where is Chrome adding the shortcut to if not on the nexus desktop or the Google Launcher desktop?

When using Google Launcher/Chrome everything seems to work just fine and there is a second window that appears after naming the shortcut that seems to do the actual job-I do not see this window appear when I use nexus launcher.

Very odd-it might just be some simple setting within Nexus Launcher that I am not remembering...

Jon

Thanks for responding to btw :-)

I'm afraid I can't help you with the launcher problem.
