Netflix menu maxs out CPU on old machine

Firefox is fine once I pick a show and start playing, but it's the netflix.com/browse page that freezes up my machines. I wondered if it could be a question of adding more RAM but it's the CPU that's maxing out.

This wasn't a problem until Firefox 57. I'm set to only use 1 process on Firefox, but that made no difference.

Firefox 58.0.1 Ubuntu 16.04 3 GB RAM 2* 2GHz CPU cores (I said it was old)

If there's a solution that doesn't involve "buy a new computer" I'd appreciate it :) I'm probably going to buy more RAM either way.
