Thunderbird suddenly stopped receiving messages (only in Xubuntu)
Hi there, My Thunderbird suddenly stopped receiving messages although all the settings are still the same as they were before, the password hasn't changed and Thunderbird in Windows has no problems with the same settings. Any ideas what might be wrong and how to fix it? Many thanks for your help, Janosch

I would suggest checking your firewall.

Thanks for your suggestion Matt. Are you aware whether xubuntu has a firewall and how I can check whether creates problems with Thunderbird?
Do you reckon it has something to do with that if nothing has changed with the firewall (if xubuntu has one) since Thunderbird worked the last time?
I am yet to see a Linux distribution that does not have a firewall, if it is enabled is another question. But I know nothing about our distribution.
Perhaps google the firewall.
Hi Matt,
I disabled the firewall (in case it was enabled before) and am still encountering the same problem.
Thunderbird also keeps crashing and sending crash reports to Mozilla when I close it (below is the latest crash report)
Any other ideas what I could do to fix it if it's not the firewall, not the ISP and not the login-data?

This report also contains technical information about the state of the application when it crashed.
A shut down hang that is converted to a crash. while the crash ids from troubleshooting information would be helpful, does this occur if you start Thunderbird in safe mode/ without add-ons from the help menu?
