just replaced my printer with HP Office Jet Pro 6978. Now printing is very very slow

Replaced my printer with HP Office Jet Pro 6978. Now printing is very very slow. It takes 2 minutes or longer to print 1 page. I'm on a Mac, and tried printing on Safari, and it works just fine in Safari. I tried the " about:config " and followed instructions. This did not solve the problem. And the print icon Does show in menu. Thanks for any help.

Why is the a FF issue? Changing printer means remove old drivers and reinstalling new drivers and since we don't know what your trying to print- how would anyone know what is happening?

I’m only printing pdf files, or an email, or an article, or?? Just the usual stuff. I’m using the latest version of Firefox Quantum 57.0.4. In trying to find an answer, I did what was suggested to print in another browser, which I did in Safari, and it works fine. It said if it printed in another browser OK, then to do the about:config. Did this and still prints super slow.
