My own sorted sequenze of bookmarks is always srewed up after a while by firefox sync

more options

Since many years I organize my bookmarks in a personal, free sequence. Previous versions of Firefox maintained this sequence always . Since version 57 this sorting is screwed up by firefox after a while, even if only one computer is connected to Sync.

I created a backup of my bookmarks, uninstalled firefox, installed it new and restored my bookmarks. The same effekt. After a while th system sorts my bookmarks in a "stupid" sequence.

Thanks,

Ulli

Quite possible there is some corruption in the Places file that stores bookmarks.

First, disable Sync on all devices.

Then in Help > Troubleshooting Information scroll all the way down to Places Database and use the Verify Integrity button on all your devices.

After that if your preferred order doesn't change for a few days reconnect to Sync a day at a time per device and take note to see that the corruption doesn't reoccur.

If it does reoccur, disconnect all devices from Sync and Reset your Sync password (for your Firefox Account) to clear the corrupt data from the Sync server.

Then Verify Integrity on each device again; and slowly reconnect each device.

Here we go again, There is bookmarks from all sorts of firefox suggested sites and mine are in a separate folder right at the bottom after show all bookmarks. They then come up in a seperate side bar. Whats the point of this. I have no interest in microsoft help websites links for UK government sites, MSN websites, cyberlink *ollocks, all sites I rarely or even have never visited. Its another half hour wasted trying to even find a way to sort them so I thought I'd waste a bit more time complaining on here. How do I sort my own bookmarks please without a sidebar coming up when I want to view them
