Thunderbird will not send copies of emails to the Sent folder or the Drafts folder, and I get error messages when I click on other folders.

This started happening yesterday for no apparent reason. I have checked my server settings and they all appear to be correct. I contacted my internet provider who couldn't help me much because I was able to send and receive messages. I am unable to save an email to the Drafts folder, and when I send an email, a copy of it does not go into the Sent folder. I get an error message when I click on all the folders.
