If I set network.captive-portal-service.enabled to False in Firefox ESR 52.4.0 (64 bit) the browser still tries to connect to captivedetect.canonicalURL.

My understanding was that switching the captive portal service off would stop requests to the detectportal.firefox.com, but logfiles are still showing DNS requests for the site. is this a bug, or are there other configuration parameters that need to be changed?
