I already wrote this once, and Firefox ate it. I'll do this again on email and copy-and-paste it immediately before I'm ready to send it. BTW, this is not the first time Firefox has done this.

I was copying to a portable hard drive last night. I left both running when I went to sleep. Overnight the computer turned itself off.

When I fire it up this morning, neither Thunderbird nor Firefox restored previous session as set. I called a local technical support site; the technician was able to recover Thunderbird, but he was not able to recover Firefox.

Since then I have been working on the problem for going on three hours without success. e.g. Some Mozilla help page told me to type about:config in the address bar. I was told that wasn't a valid address. duhhh

After this much much time without progress, I think it's time to escalate this to someone who knows more than I do.

Will someone please help me with this?
