Why do file uploads not work in phpBB forums?

I have Version 57.0 of Firefox for Android. I've used Firefox on the computer for many, many years early on, then went to Chrome around version 47 or 48. I've been using Chrome on my phone, but changed back when Quantum came out. Everything seems to work great on the computer, but on Android, it is a bit of a mess. Here are the issues: 1) Add Files button on my phpBB forum does nothing other than indicate the button was selected, so I cannot upload files to my forum. I checked permissions and FireFox has Storage permissions. 2) The default home screen is a mess with the Pockets stuff! I don't care what pockets think I should read, but I see no way to disable it. 3) I've used browsers for as long as there have been browsers and History has always been just fine with finding stuff I visited lately. Having 4 or 5 icons on the home screen for different pages in a website is just plain cluttered and ugly! Again, I see no way to tell it not to do that! I want to see pinned sites ONLY. 4) I notice in All Permissions that FireFox has the ability to download files without notifying me. To me, if it were any app other than FireFox, this would be an immediate Uninstall. (Yes, I DO check all permissions for every app, and I do not keep apps that have permissions they don't need!) Any reason WHY this would be the case in FireFox?

Ok, so more than one question, but also more efficient than posting 4 posts. Maybe this is just stuff that's changed since I stopped using FireFox a few years ago, or maybe it is the 'new normal', but to me is is frustrating, cluttered and ugly! Is there a way to fix these issues, or is it back to Chrome here these issues don't exist?
