Everything was fine until Firefox updated. Now it is super slow and glitchcy. I have been using it for years and never had these problems before. I have tried reinstalling it. I tried calling for support and was told I have a virus which is not true since all other programs run error free including Chrome and Edge. Any help you can give would be appreciated.

hi, first of all whichever number you've called was not mozilla , since we do not provide any phone support: Avoid and report Mozilla tech support scams

in regards to the performance issue, could you go to the firefox menu ≡ > help ? > troubleshooting information page and take a look in the Accessibility section if accessibility is set to "true" there.

if yes, can you please copy & paste this whole section into a reply in the forum and see if the following fixes the performance problem: go to the firefox menu ≡ > options > privacy & security panel and under permissions check the setting to prevent accessibility services from accessing your browser.

Hi there,

I'm sorry to hear that you're running into issue using Firefox. There are a couple of things you can try to solve the problem:

1. Running Firefox in Safe Mode: https://support.mozilla.org/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode - the safest and fastest way to see if the issue is caused any changes to Firefox settings 2. Refreshing Firefox: https://support.mozilla.org/kb/refresh-firefox-reset-add-ons-and-settings - the best way to make Firefox use its default settings without having to uninstall and reinstall it

Please note that if your computer is infected with malware, you may be experiencing issues regardless of the above solutions working or not. I would also recommend scanning your computer for malware using the built-in Windows Defender software - or any other respectable virus scanning software of your choice.

I hope this helps.
