I HATE THE NEW QUANTUM!!!!

I upgraded from the latest version (57? 58?) and immediately lost all my session tabs. GONE.. no trace.. Then I backed up my profile to a new folder and noticed that the new quantum was AT A STAND STILL.. Literally not a single thing worked.. 30seconds - a full minute or more before it acknowledges each click of the mouse.. I re-installed it from a clean slate after deleting the profile folder, and all traces (except for the back in a new folder) and re-installed quantum..

AGAIN.. At a standstill..

I RECORDED a video of what I am dealing with:

hi, thanks for reporting this. could you go to the firefox menu ≡ > help ? > troubleshooting information page and take a look in the Accessibility section if accessibility is set to "true" there.

if yes, can you please copy & paste this whole section into a reply in the forum and see if the following fixes the performance problem: go to the firefox menu ≡ > options > privacy & security panel and under permissions check the setting to prevent accessibility services from accessing your browser.

And THAT seems to be the culprit.. The "Prevent Accessibility services from accessing my browser"!!

I turned it ON, and after it re-started, it appears to be FAST. Turned it OFF and after it restarted it's back to being UNUSUABLE. Then turned it back ON again and after it restarted it's back to being FAST..

What the heck is that feature??

On this thought, I am going to try and restore my original profile back up along with everything else (passwords, cookies, sessions, bookmarks, history, etc). I assume I can just copy back the entire PROFILE folder back?

I copied the entire folder "firefox" from the app directory which contained the bookmarks, etc... basically the profile..

yes, you can restore your profile that way, but would need to flip the preference again afterwards.

very bizzare.. Not allowing me to import the old session for some reason..

1. I close the quantum 2. Copy the old backup (nov 17 84kb) which shows when I view as an EDIT that it has the old links (encrypted but can see some URLS), to "sessionstore.js" in the main firefox profile folder overwriting the original "sessionstore.js".

3. Re-open firefox quantum and it does not import the tabs and pins I had before.. all fresh clean slate again..

Philipp- saw this same answer in another user's question about Quantum running slowly, bit like another user, my Accessibility showed "false". I changed the setting in Options> Privacy & Security panel anyway but still running like molasses. It takes from 30 seconds to 4 minutes for a page to load (when I don't get a connection failure error) and while scrolling seems to be okay once I'm there, responses are slow and because the re-do has been moved and no longer indicates the loading of a page as well as the change to the little moving dots that do NOT always show, I fear sometimes I've hindered my own progress by re-clicking. I can't do this - I haven't the patience or the time. I got the update Thursday night, it is now Monday morning. I have reset, I dumped all my add-ons, and it just runs slower and slower AND reCaptcha does not work/load - various errors 90% of the time! WHY????? Why did they foist this crap on us (I had auto update set and got "upgraded" against my will)? Any help is most appreciated - otherwise like so many others I will have to go to Chrome.
